Our very first single barrel release comes from our very first barrel filled.
This barrel of whisky represents a whole lot to us. Producing premium whiskies was the impetus behind Indigenous World Spirits, and here now is the first thing we made. It's the first spirit ever distilled by Colin and the first barrel filled; and not knowing what he could do wrong, he did everything right.
This is the first in what we hope is a very long line of single barrel releases. We see it as an opportunity to showcase for you the heart of what it means to be a producer of craft spirits. BC grown and malted barley, mashed, fermented, distilled and then left alone in an ex-port barrel for five years to become what you have here now. Not chill filtered, no caramelization, we couldn't even be bothered to dilute it.
This Whisky leads on the nose with aromas of banana, caramel and cinnamon turning to caramelized demerara sugar and orange rind on the palate with accents of toffee and butter tarts and finishing with the barest hint of cigar box and white pepper.
